Hollow Block
Concrete Hollow Blocks (CHB), are one of the most extensively used walling materials in all over the world including Bangladesh. Some of the reasons for this is their relative low cost when compared to other materials and speed of installation by semi-skilled laborers. CHB walls are very weak against lateral loads (pushing or pulling forces from typhoon or earthquake). Adding steel reinforcing bars vertically and horizontally inside the CHBs can increase their resistance to lateral loads.
Solid Block
Concrete block masonry which is also known as concrete masonry unit (CMU) have advantages over brick and stone masonry. Concrete blocks are manufactured in required shape and sizes and these may be solid or hollow blocks. … Cement, aggregate, water is used to prepare concrete blocks.It is the ideal alternative product of clay brick for construction. It is good for exterior and interior wall of any building.

Using Procedure
Technical Know-how to Use Concrete Blocks
১। সাধারণ ইটের মতো ব্লক পানিতে ভেজাতে হবে না।
২। শুকনো ব্লক দিয়ে দেয়াল গাঁথতে হবে।
৩। সিসি ঢালাই বা কোন সমান মেঝের উপর মসলা দিয়ে
প্রথমে লেয়ার ব্লক গাঁথতে হবে।
৪। ব্লকের ফাঁকা অংশে কোন মসলা যাতে না পড়ে সেজন্য ব্লকের ফাঁকা অংশের উপর গজ বা পাট্টা ধরে দেয়াল গাঁথতে হবে।
৫। বিম বা ছাদের নিচে ১” – ১.৫” ফাঁকা রাখতে হবে যা পরে প্লাস্টার করার সময় পাইচিপ্স দিয়ে ঢালাই করে পূর্ণ করে দিতে হবে।
৬। প্রতিবারে সর্বোচ্চ ১০০ মি.মি. ব্লকে ৫ লেয়ার ও ১৫০ মি.মি. ব্লকে ৬ লেয়ার পর্যন্ত দেয়াল গাঁথতে হবে।
৭। পরের দিন স্বাভাবিক মসলা দিয়ে সাধারন নিয়মে পরবর্তী গাঁথুনি দিতে হবে।
৮। দশ ফুটের চেয়ে লম্বা দেয়ালের মাঝামাঝি একটি ফাঁকা অংশে মেঝে থেকে লিন্টেল লেভেল পর্যন্ত ৩ সুতা রড দিয়ে ব্লকের ফাঁকাস্থান গ্রাউট দিয়ে ঢালাই করে দিতে হবে।
৯। লিন্টেল ডিজাইন অনুযায়ী রড এবং ১:২:৪ অনুপাতের কংক্রিট দিয়ে ঢালাই করে দিতে হবে।
১০। বৃষ্টির দিনে কাজের শেষে পলিথিন দিয়ে ঢেকে দিতে হবে।
১১। প্লাস্টার করার আগে দেয়াল ভালোভাবে শুকাতে হবে। দেয়াল ১/২” প্লাস্টার করতে হবে। প্লাস্টার মসলা ১:৫ অনুপাতে ব্যবহার করতে হবে। প্লাস্টার করার পরের দিন থেকে পানি দিয়ে ভালোভাবে কমপক্ষে ১০ দিন কিউরিং করতে হবে।
১২। ব্লক লেয়িংয়ের আগে দেয়ালের দৈর্ঘ্য মেপে নিতে হবে এবং ব্লকের মাপ অনুযায়ী জয়েন্ট মেলাতে হবে এবং ১/২” করতে হবে। এতে কোন ব্লক ভাঙা বা কাটার প্রয়োজন হবে না। যদি দেয়ালের একপাশে ব্লকের মাপ কম বেশি হয় সেক্ষেত্রে জয়েন্ট ছোট বড় করে লেয়ি করতে হবে। একইভাবে ছাদের উচ্চতা মেপে নিতে হবে এবং মাপ অনুযায়ী লেয়ি করতে হবে। ছাদের নিচে যদি ২-৩” ফাঁকা থাকে সেটি ইটের টুকরো দিয়ে পূর্ণ করতে হবে।
